N-ACETYL GLUCOSAMINE
Description N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG) is a key amino sugar used in the construction of the connective tissues that hold cells together. NAG is necessary for making supermolecules of amino sugars with proteins, which form glycoproteins and glycol-aminoglycans (or mucopolysaccharides), the living “glue” which holds cells & tissues in place. NAG & these supermolecules are especially vital for the healthy function of joints & spinal discs, the inner lining (basement membrane) of the digestive tract, kidneys, & eyes, NAG is also important for healing wounded tissues after injury. Ordinarily, the body makes NAG from glucose, glutamic acid and acetate groups. But poor diet, deficiency of certain co-factors, disease, injury and aging, may render the body unable to keep up with increased demand for NAG in tissue functions. NAG supplementation can make a major contribution to health in these situations. NAG is considered completely non-toxic. It forms an assurance program for continued good health, and a valuable adjunct to healing. Packaging: Packed in recyclable amber PETE containers to provide the best protection for the product against oxidation. |
