Description
Types of Lesions
Cankers or Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) - lesions which appear in up to 50-60% of the general population and may be caused by one or more of the following factor :
- Local and oral factors - allergies, salivary gland dysfunction
- Microbial causes - bacterial and viral, including various types of herpes

Safety - Carob has been recognized for hundreds, if not thousands, of years as an edible fruit.
- According to the Botanical Safety Handbook, carob is defined as safe for human consumption.
- According to the pharmacist's handbook, "Martindale", carob has no contraindications, other than hypersensitivity to the fruit itself.
- Clinical studies (for other indications) have been conducted on children from the age of 3 months.

Activity
The carob fruit contains on average 19.2 mg/g polyphenols, 2.75 mg/g condensed tannins (proanthocyanidins) and 0.95 mg/g hydrolysable tannins (gallo- and ellagitannins)(2) . Polyphenols and tannins are known in medical literature (Martindale) for their application in treating the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat. During the manufacturing process of SorEndTM, the concentration of polyphenols and tannins is magnified.
How does SorEndTM accelerate healing?
- Polyphenols, through complexation with protein or and polysaccharide molecules on the mucous membrane, form an impervious layer under which the natural healing process occurs.
How does SorEndTM provide relief from pain and burning sensation?
- Tannins complex with bradykinin which, among its biological activities, initiates pain and mediates in the inflammation cascade.
In addition, the non-carob ingredients in SorEndTM contribute to the healing of lesions as a result of their virustatic, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal activity.
